About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced, people-first Executive Chef to lead our back-of-house operations with a strong mix of creativity, care, and leadership. You’ll be responsible for everything from menu development and food costing to kitchen culture and team development. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who loves building systems, mentoring teams, and bringing a hospitality-forward perspective to the kitchen.

What You’ll Do

Leadership & Team Development

  • Hire, train, and lead a high-performing BOH team

  • Foster a culture rooted in professionalism, accountability, and hospitality

  • Provide consistent feedback, coaching, and growth opportunities

  • Lead daily lineups, quarterly reviews, and ongoing training

Kitchen Operations & Execution

  • Manage day-to-day kitchen operations, prep, and service

  • Ensure food is executed consistently, cleanly, and on time

  • Maintain health code and safety standards that exceed requirements

  • Own BOH scheduling, station prep systems, and kitchen SOPs

  • Use tools like xtraCHEF, Toast, and Google Workspace to support operations

Menu Development & Culinary Innovation

  • Lead seasonal menu development based on local sourcing and guest feedback

  • Write recipes, batch guides, plating specs, and training documents

  • Host tastings and educational sessions for FOH and BOH

  • Ensure all dishes meet our standards for flavor, presentation, and value

Inventory & Cost Management

  • Manage food cost and P&L performance

  • Oversee purchasing, par levels, and vendor relationships

  • Track and reduce waste across prep and service

  • Adjust menus and systems to maintain margins while staying creative

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of experience in a senior or executive chef role

  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-functioning teams

  • Strong financial and operational understanding (food costing, inventory, labor)

  • Deep appreciation for scratch cooking and seasonal/local sourcing

  • Excellent communication skills, especially cross-departmentally

  • Calm, solutions-oriented leadership style

  • Culinary degree is a plus but not required

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary + performance-based bonus potential

  • Paid time off + major holidays off

  • Matched 401(k) to support your long-term goals

  • A creative, supportive work environment where your leadership makes a difference

  • The opportunity to help shape an independently owned restaurant from the inside out
